Marden Edwards launches new low cost overwrapper

Marden Edwards, has just launched a brand new overwrapper – the Evo-Fold.

The Evo-Fold has been designed as an entry level, fully automatic overwrapping machine capable of speeds up to 45 packs per minute. Typical applications that the machine has been designed for include the wrapping of tea, confectionery, cosmetic and tobacco products.

Overwrapping machinery has traditionally been considered expensive when compared to automatic shrinkwrapping. This is not the case. The price of the Evo is actually less than many automatic shrinkwrappers capable of wrapping products at speeds greater than 40 packs per minute. In addition, BOPP overwrapping film is less expensive and less wasteful than the shrink equivalent and overwrapping consumes much less energy than power hungry shrink tunnels.

Designed, manufactured and assembled in the UK, the Evo-Fold is a finely honed design resulting from over 8,000 overwrappers having been installed in over 150 countries worldwide. As with all Marden Edwards overwrappers the Evo-Fold is capable of a wide product size range and the quality of the wrap is consistently high.

The Marden Edwards KPB650 is a new wrapping machine developed to overwrap large collations of product with an uncoated paper.  Hot melt is used to close the package and the machine has the capability of wrapping a collation up to 400X400X250mm in size and is intended to replace the traditional case packing machines.  

This innovative alternative to corrugated and other shrink wrap options can create a substantial cost saving over these traditional methods and cut down considerably on waste product, material costs, labour costs, disposal and recycling tariffs as well as warehouse and distribution costs.
